Enroll Faculty and TAs in your Course
At SMU, all students and the instructor of record [sometimes called the "Course Manager"] are automatically enrolled in a course when it's created. This happens through an automatic sync process between the Registrar's system and Canvas.
This means that you should never have to enroll students in your courses (the Registrar always handles that), but you will have to manually add any other faculty or TAs that you want to give access to your course. Let's look at how to do this:
Adding Faculty to your Course
Go to your "People" tab and click "Manage Users"
From inside a course space, click the People tab in your Course Navigation. In the sidebar, click Manage Users.
Select Add Users
Use the Add Users button to select which user to add.
Add your TAs or Faculty
1) From the dropdown menu here, select "TAs" or "Teachers". Ignore the checkbox about grading students in their section.
2) Enter the person's SMU username, not email address. In this case, I entered "sfoster" to select Scot Foster.
3) Click OK Looks Good, Add this 1 User.
